ATCTS Army

The United States Army needs an information system and network that works according to the landscape DoD has made. So it needs a cybersecurity workforce that can be reliable. That’s why the US Army needs them to be trained well. In order for the training to go well, the US Army decided to make a system, namely ATCTS Army.

What is ATCTS Army?

ATCTS stands for Army Training & Certification Tracking System. This is a platform that Willcotech established. This platform uses Cyberstar Technology, the specialty platform for The U.S Army.

This online system aims to meet the unique needs specification of each section in DoD and make a fit IT training to DoD 8140 and 8570. Besides that, ATCTS can generate real-time reports, namely FISMA. This system must integrate with DoD training databases and providers including Skillport, DMDC, and FedVTE.

With this ATCTS platform, users are guided to annual training that is auto-generated in order to still comply. The users can control their own training while managers can monitor and maintain users to keep complying with the training plan through regular reports and administration.

For you, a cyber workforce who wants to register to the ATCTS platform, you can follow these below instructions:

• First, you go to the website: http://www.atc.us.army.mi
• On the left part of the homepage, you will find the button “Login.” Then click it.
• Then select and click “Register Here” at the below section of the page Login.
• You must fill in some information before continuing. The data are first name, middle name, last name, AKO email address, phone number, and degree type for personnel type you select IT-IV. The other data is an occupational specialty; in this option, please input your valid MOS.
• You must continue to fill out the registration form. In the MACOM or HQ Alignment, select “Search for Unit” and choose unit search 55th.
• Next, you click “Open.” After that, the Pop-up appears, and you can select your unit. Fill the box with your information. Click “Yes” for confirmation.
• Then, you’ll receive a temporary password in your AKO email Address.
• This is the last step. You have to log in to www.us.army.mil. Then you log in to your AKO email with your CAC. Or You can log in to email with a username and password.
• Now you open the incoming email with the subject “ATC,” then copy the temporary password to continue to log in to the ATCTS site.

After registering, you can continue to login the ATCTS Army website. You can follow the below steps:

• You go first to http://www.atc.us.army.mil/
• Then you can input your Username or your AKO email address
• Don’t forget to input your temporary word too that you have copied before from your AKO email
• Next, you can input the new password
• On the next page, you will be asked to answer some questions. Then please choose “General User.”
• After that, you choose “No” in “Designated Approving Authority” (DAA)

The U.S Army, as one of three military departments under DoD surveillance, holds an important role. The cybersecurity workforce of the US Army has a responsibility to maintain all military departments of DoD information systems and networks.

The workforce must be trained to keep the cybersecurity landscape updated and relevant. Because the cybersecurity plan changes fast.

Because of this reason, ATCTS was made by DoD and Willcotech. ATCTS is present to make all cybersecurity team members, whether users or managers, comply with the training guide written on DoD 8570 and 8140.

ATCTS gives the manager in all cybersecurity team sections to report and maintain training and certification requirements for their workforces and general users.

Who is the Cybersecurity Workforce?

They are personnel with the specialty access right of information system and/or IA workers in the technical position, Computer Network Defense provider, management, engineering, and even the network architect.

While the guidance for them to comply with the training is DoD 8570. DoD 8570.01-M and AR 25-2 contain cybersecurity functions. Meanwhile, DoD 8570.01-M contains training requirements, workforce management, and certification requirements.

DoD 8570.01-M is valid for members in DoD work teams, including military members, local nationals, civilians, contractors, and non-allocated fund personnel.

Here is the training that is required for the cybersecurity workforce in ATCTS Army:

• Before and after getting the annual training, the personnel of ATCTS must complete Cybersecurity Awareness training.
• Before going to war environments, all cybersecurity workforce must follow the training and be certified.
• The personnel has to keep getting the appropriate certification with the highest level according to the required positions.
• All IT service contracts must state that the contractor’s personnel must get proper certification and the basic environment computation.
• Cybersecurity members with special access to information systems must be appointed, trained, and certified as IA Technical I-III.
• All personnel of the cybersecurity team must have a new appointing assignment that shows their category and cybersecurity level. And for IAT I-III members, the assignment must describe their scope, function, and responsibilities.

The workforce that does not meet the requirements will get the two treatments. Firstly, DoD will reassign them to other jobs according to the recent law.

Secondly, until they get the certification, the personnel that does not meet the requirements can still do the duties under certified surveillance personnel properly. Exception qualification requirements have been terminated because of operational and personnel constraints.

ATCTS Army is the cybersecurity platform that the DoD made to ensure that the cybersecurity plan works and that all workforce of the cybersecurity team obey it. This platform contains the guidance of information systems and network training and certification.
